Wildcats Hammer Generals on Labor Day
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats opened their home slate Monday at Wildcat Stadium. The Cats played host to LSU-Alexandria.
The match was scoreless until the 3:57 mark of the first period. Bethel's Mountaga Sall scored after an assist from Milos Stajkovic.
The squads went to the break with Bethel leading by that margin.
The Wildcats broke open the contest in the second period. Sall scored again at the 37:10 mark. Adrian Musubi was credited with the assist. Less than a minute later, Sergio Baguena put the Wildcats up 3-0 on an assist from Isaac Stanley. Five minutes later Bethel took a 4-0 lead on a goal by Pablo Ramirez. Musubi would make it 5-0 with 30:05 left on a sterling strike after a deflection.
Bethel had a 23-4 margin in shots and a 16-2 dominate advantage in shots on goal. The Cats had a 9-0 margin in corner kicks.
Coach Malang Jarju commented, "I thought the boys played well and we controlled the game the entire time. I am very happy with my forwards."
The Cats moved to 3-0-1 while LSU-A fell to 0-2-1.
Bethel leads the series 4-1.
The Wildcats travel to No. 16 William Carey with action starting at 7:30 p.m.
