Bethel’s Norberto Lima Vieira Named MSC Soccer Player of the Week

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Shawnee State's Kevin deLange and Bethel's Norberto Lima Vieira earned Mid-South Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week honors, conference officials announced Monday.

MSC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

Kevin de Lange – Shawnee State (Ohio) – Jr. – Forward – Genemuiden, Netherlands

·         de Lange netted four goals, all in the first half, for the Bears in a victory against Trinity Christian (Ill.)

·         The junior found the back of the net in the four times between the sixth and 32^nd minutes

·         It marked the most goals in a single match for an SSU player in school history

·         This is the first MSC weekly honor of the season and the fourth of his career for de Lange

MSC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

Norberto Lima Vieira – Bethel (Tenn.) – Jr. – Goalkeeper – Piedade, Brazil

·         Vieira registered 10 saves and a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory over NCAA DII Christian Brothers

·         The junior collected five saves in each period, including four in the final 14 minutes of the win

·         This marks Vieira's first MSC weekly honor of the season and third of his career
