Kyler Barnes enters his second year as an assistant coach with Bethel men's basketball and his fifth year overall in coaching in 2024-25.

Coach Barnes started his coaching career with the Missouri Mavericks 14U team. Shortly after, he joined the coaching staff at Murray High School under Tom Foust where he was varsity assistant and junior varsity head coach. Coach Barnes helped coach a team that was the All-A runner-up and top ten in team defense percentage in Kentucky for the 2023 season.

Barnes started his playing career at Cooter High School playing under David Mathis from 2012 to 2016. He then played one year at Hannibal-LaGrange University in 2016 before transferring to Bethel in 2017 and finishing his collegiate career under Coach Stanley.

Coach Barnes is originally from Cooter, Mo., where he attended Cooter High School from 2012 to 2016. He is the son of Melissa and Andrew Barnes. He has a brother Luke and a sister Madison. Barnes currently resides in Paris, TN.
