Cold Shooting Night Ends Bethel’s Winning Streak
OAKLAND CITY, Ind. –The Bethel Wildcats saw their winning streak at 11 end Saturday afternoon in the Dunn Hospitality Classic in Oakland City, Indiana.
The Cats fell 70-65 to Indiana-South Bend.
Bethel led 28-27 at halftime but were outscored 43-37 in the second half.
The Wildcats fell behind by double digits in the second half but pulled to with one late in the game only to see IUSB hold on for their seventh straight win and move to 9-4. The Cats dropped to 12-2 on the year.
The Wildcats shot just 36 percent from the floor and hit just three treys in 19 three-point attempts.
Bethel was outrebounded 49-37. The Cats were 10-of-12 from the free throw line. IUSB made 19 -of -27 from the line.
Chauncey Hughes III led the Cats with 12 points. D J Starr and Russell Williams had 11 each.
C J Hornbeak led IUSB with a game high 19 points.
Bethel is back in action Friday hosting UHSP at 6 p.m. The Cats are 6-1 at home on the season and 163-60 all time in Crisp Arena.
