Cats Upend UHSP in St. Louis
ST. LOUIS, Mo.- The Bethel Wildcats returned to action face the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy Tuesday in St. Louis.
The Cats beat the Eutectics 73-69 to move to 10-2 on the season. UHSP dropped to 5-8.
It was the second meeting ever between the two programs. Bethel won the earlier meeting back in December of 2023.
Tied at 35-35 at the half, the Cats outscored UHSP 38-34 in the second half to win by four.
The Wildcats had a commanding 54-22 rebound margin. Bethel shot 47 percent from the floor. UHSP shot 41 percent from the field.
Bethel's Brennon Marsh had 13 points and a career high 16 rebounds. Trevor Chatman led Bethel in scoring with 17 points. Joe Wimberly contributed with 12 points. D J Starr finished in double digits with 10 points. Ethan Turner was solid with eight points and 11 boards.
Jasmin Suvakija led UHSP with 17 points.
The Wildcats close out the semester with a morning home game Thursday against Crowley's Ridge. The tip-off is scheduled for 11 a.m.
The game will be played before a packed house in Crisp Arena with hundreds of area school children joining Bethel fans to root on the Wildcats.
Admission will be free for the event.
