Cats Sign DJ Starr

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – Bethel Men's Basketball Coach Jeff Britt announced Tuesday the signing of DJ Starr of Bloomington, Illinois. DJ is the son of David and Amy Starr and will major in Kinesiology.

Starr comes to Bethel after two years at Columbia State Community College.

DJ played his prep ball at University High School in Bloomington. He also played at Ravenwood High in Brentwood, Tennessee.

DJ was all-conference and all-state at University High his junior and senior seasons. University High won the state title his freshman season.

 He was an all-district performer his senior year at Ravenwood.

Starr was second team all-academic at CSCC. He was an all-conference performer his second year at Columbia State.

Starr averaged 16 points, four rebounds and four assists during his prep career. He averaged 12 points, four rebounds and six assists at Columbia State.

Starr feels his biggest strengths are his dedication and work ethic.

Coach Britt commented, "We ae excited to add DJ to our program. He brings valuable experience after a good high school career and two good seasons at Columbia State. We look forward to working with him."
