Cats Cannot Keep Pace with No. 6 Freed-Hardeman
MCKENZIE, Tenn. –A cold shooting first half was too much for the Bethel Wildcats to overcome Saturday afternoon in Crisp Arena. The No. 6 Freed-Hardeman Lions used a stifling defense to beat the Wildcats 82-58. Bethel shot just 23 percent in the half and 30 percent in the game.
FHU shot 51 percent from the floor and forced Bethel into 16 turnovers.
The Lions hit six three-pointers and were 20-of-26 from the free throw line. Bethel hit four three-pointers and finished 18-of-26 in free throw attempts.
Querrion Gadson led Bethel with 16 points. The senior also had eight rebounds. Ethan Turner had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Tyler Neely finished with 13 points.
Five Lions finished in double digits with Hunter Scurlock and J J Wheat each scoring 14 points.
The Wildcats dropped to 12-11 overall and 1-6 in the MSC.
The Lions moved to 19-3 and 6-1.
Bethel returns to action Saturday visiting No. 13 Georgetown. The Tigers defeated Bethel 97-66 in late January in McKenzie.
