Cats Fall to No. 6 Patriots in Crisp

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcats played host to No. 6 the University of the Cumberlands Thursday night in Crisp Arena.

The Patriots outscored the Wildcats 22-11 in the last eight minutes of the first half to garner a 47-30 margin at the half. The Wildcats could never recover and fell 95-67.

The Pats shot 59 percent from the floor while the Wildcats shot 40 percent from the field. UC had a 50-32 advantage in points in the paint.

Querrion Gadson led Bethel with 15 points, Justin Evans had 13 points while Tyler Neely finished with 10 points. Ethan Turner had eight points and seven rebounds.

Six Patriots finished in double figures. Robertas Jonaitis led UC with a game high 17 points.

Bethel dropped to 12-8 overall and 1-3 in the Mid-South Conference. The Wildcats are 125-52 all-time in Crisp Arena.

The Patriots moved to 18-1 and 4-0 in the league. UC has won six straight games.

Bethel remains at home hosting No. 17 Georgetown Saturday at 3 p.m. The Tigers (15-4. 2-2) upset No. 7 Freed-Hardeman 70-66 Thursday in Henderson. The Lions had won 11 straight. It was FHU's first home loss of the year.
