Cats Take Tigers to Wire before Falling in Campbellsville

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Tenn. – Coming off a disappointing loss at No. 7 Freed-Hardeman, the Bethel University Wildcats looked to bounce back Thursday traveling to Campbellsville, Kentucky to face the Campbellsville Tigers.

The Wildcats played well enough to beat the Tigers who entered the game undefeated at home on the season, but a late Tiger surge allowed Campbellsville to move to 9-0 at home with an 87-80 victory.

The Tigers moved to 13-4 and 1-2 in the MSC.

Bethel fell to 11-7 and 0-2.

The Tigers outscored the Cats 19-14 in the last five minutes to secure the victory. Bethel had led 34-33 at the half.

The Tigers shot 47 percent from the field while the Wildcats shot 43 percent.

Campbellsville hit 24 of their 28 free throw attempts while Bethel was 15-of -27 from the line.

The Tigers connected on nine three-pointers while the Wildcats were just three of sixteen from deep.

Querrion Gadson led Bethel with 19 points and a game high nine rebounds. Conner Guthrie had 18 points while Jose Nazario followed with 12 points.

Four Tigers finished in double figures with former Wildcat Chandler Clements leading Campbellsville with a game high 22 points.
