Cats Win Big at UHSP

ST. LOUIS, Mo. –The Bethel Wildcats snapped a three-game losing streak with a 100-68 victory Monday night at University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy in St. Louis. The 100 points was a season high for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats led 46-40 at the half and outscored the Eutectisis 54-28 in the second half.

Bethel shot 47 percent from the floor and out rebounded UHSP 62-43. The   62 boards are a season high for the Wildcats.

Kendan Maddox led the Wildcats with 20 points. Querrion Gadson had 17 while Jose Nazario followed with 11 points. Dwight Reed hit double figures with 10 points. Ethan Turner had eight points and had a team high eight rebounds. UHSP was led by Landan Engelage with 30 points and 15 rebounds.

The Wildcats improved to 7-5 while UHSP dropped their fifth in a row and are 1-8 on the year.

Coach Jeff Britt commented, "We played a super second half. The scoring was balanced but our defense was key, holding UHSP to just 28 points in the half. Our board work was a huge key as well." 

The Cats return to action Saturday in the Johnnie Armstrong Classic at Blue Mountain Christian. They meet Arkansas Baptist at 1 p.m.
