Cats Drop Second in a Row with Loss to Tougaloo

MCKENZIE, Tenn. -The Bethel Wildcats attempted to bounce from a tough 90-83 loss to Fisk University Friday in the opening night of the 2023 Thanksgiving Classic. The Wildcats faced Touglaoo in the classic finale Sunday afternoon in Crisp Arena.

Despite leading 35-30 at the half, the Cats couldn't hold the lead, being outscored 40-32 in the second half. Bethel dropped their second straight falling 70-67 to the Bulldogs.

The Wildcats are 6-4 on the season. Tougaloo moved to 4-3.

Bethel had a 41-32 rebound advantage but for the second straight night struggled from the free throw line. Bethel was 10-of-17 while Tougaloo was 15-of-21.

Tyler Neely led the Wildcats with 15 points. Conner Guthrie tossed in 13 points. Querrion Gadson finished with 12 points.

Tougaloo's Keondre Montgomery had a game high 34 points.  

Fisk edged Life in the earlier game, 77-70. 

The Wildcats are back in action Saturday traveling to St. Louis to meet Missouri Baptist at 3 p.m. CT.
