Balanced Scoring & Strong Second Half Enables Cats to Secure Road Win

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Bethel Wildcats Road show continued for the fourth straight game Tuesday as the Wildcats traveled to St. Louis to battle the Harris-Stowe Hornets.

Bethel trailed 40-37 at the half. Querrion Gadson led the Wildcats with 15 points at the break. Jose Nazario followed with eight points. Yassine Zlitni had four points. No one else had more than two points. Bethel's board work enabled them to hang tough as they had a 23-8 advantage on the glass.

The second half saw the Wildcats use balanced scoring to secure the 76-55 victory over the Hornets. The Wildcats outscored the home team, 39-15 in the second half.

Gadson finished with a team high of 19 points. Nazario had 12 points. Six Wildcats finished with seven points or more.

Bethel had a whopping 53-20 margin in rebounds. Newcomer Kendan Maddox had a game high 12 boards.   The Cats had a 43 -12 advantage in bench points.

Bethel moved to 3-1 on the season while the Hornets fell to 1-4. Harris Stowe has dropped four in a row.

It was the fourth all-time meeting between the two programs with Bethel holding a 4-0 advantage in the series. 

Coach Jeff Britt said, "We played really well with a lot of guys stepping up, especially in the second half. I am proud of a total team effort."

The Wildcats play their home opener Friday hosting Southeastern Baptist in the Annual Chick Fil-A Classic. Tip-off is at 8 p.m. The game will be preceded by the Blue Mountain Christian and Crowley's Ridge game which tipoffs at 6 p.m.
