First Half Shooting by Thomas More Proves Too Much for Cats
CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. - The Bethel Wildcats closed out the road portion of their regular season at No. 8 Thomas More Saturday in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. The Saints proved too much for the Cats beating Bethel 76-62.
The Saints shot 63 percent in the first half and led 45-32 at the break.
The Wildcats battled back and pulled to within six at 66-60 with 6:41 left in the game. Thomas More closed out the game with a 10-2 run to win and moved to 23-3 overall and 17-2 in the MSC.
It was the second time on the season TMU beat Bethel. They won in McKenzie 77-57 back in January.
The Wildcats fell to 12-15 overall and 4-15 in the MSC.
Thomas More shot 58 percent in the game and hit seven three-pointers. Bethel shot 46 percent and knocked down six treys.
TMU had a 22-15 advantage in bench points.
Yassine Zlitni led Bethel with 15 points. Kamron Rose followed with 12 points and a team high five rebounds. Jarred Walker had 10 points. Walker, who joined the 1,000-point club Thursday against Shawnee State has 1, 025 career points.
Ryan Batte had a game high 23 points for the Saints. Reid Jolly had 17 for TMU.
