Cat Comeback Falls Short Versus Eagles
MCKENZIE, Tenn. –The Bethel Wildcats returned home for the first time since November 27 when they played host to the Life University Running Eagles Saturday. A Bethel rally in the last five minutes fell short as Life held on for a 70-68 upset of Bethel.

It was only the second meeting ever between the two programs. Bethel edged the Eagles 80-79 back in 2018 in McKenzie.
Both teams hit 27 field goals in the game. Bethel hit six three-pointers to just three by Life. The Eagles hit 13 -of -23 free throw attempts. Bethel was 8-of-11 from the line. The Wildcats had a big advantage in rebounding at 38-23.
In a game that featured eight ties and four lead changes, the Eagles had a 22-10 margin in bench points.
Kamron Rose led Bethel with 18 points. Drew Thomas finished with 16 tallies. Jon Brown had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Jamarius Mayberry had a double-double with 10 points and a game high 13 rebounds.
Life's Chris Barnes led all scorers with 22 points. Dara Olonade came off the Life bench with 19 big points.
Coach Jeff Britt commented, "This is a disappointing loss to say the least. We did not defend well, and we struggled at times on the offensive end. We will need to come back after the break and refocus on what we do well."
The Cats return to action January 3rd with a road game at Freed-Hardeman. Tip-off in Henderson is slated for 8 p.m.
