MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Murfreesboro (TN) Blackmon High School standout Christian De Witt signed with the Bethel University Men's basketball program recently. Christian is the son of Jason and Sherrie De Witt of Murfreesboro and will major in Business. He is the grandson of newly Bethel HOF Inductee Bud Mayfield.

Christian was a district MVP and district tournament MVP during his prep career and helped lead Blackmon to the TSSAA State title his sophomore year. He was named all-state this past season. Blackmon appeared in the state semi-finals his junior and senior seasons.

He averaged 10.2 points and eight rebounds per game his senior season. He shot 55 percent from the floor and 49 percent from three-point range this past season.

He feels his strengths are his heart and determination. He played for coach Barry Wortman at BHS.

Bethel Coach Jeff Britt commented on the signing. "We are extremely pleased to have Christian join our program. I look forward to working with him over the next four seasons and watching him progress on and off the floor."
