Bat Cats Drop Conference Opener at Campbellsville

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Bethel Wildcats traveled to Campbellsville Friday to open a three-game weekend set against the (RV) Tigers.

The conference opener for the Cats found the Tigers winning 9-5. Two big innings proved to be too much for the Cats to overcome.

Campbellsville scored three runs in the first and four runs in the fourth. The Wildcats rallied for four runs of their own in the ninth, but it wasn't enough as Bethel fell to 6-15 overall and 0-1 in the Mid-South Conference. The Tigers improved to 16-8 and 3-1 in the league.

Both teams committed two errors in the game. The Tigers outhit the Wildcats 18-11. Bethel left nine runners on base.

Juan Diego Ramos drove in two runs. Tyler Webb, Cade Pilkinton, and Galvin Sims each drove in single runs for the Wildcats.

Kleysen Garbruck had two hits and drove in three runs for the Tigers.

Walker Ward suffered the Bethel loss. Brody Forno picked up the Tiger win.

The teams play a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.
