Wildcats Fall at Johnson University

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. –The Bethel Wildcats were looking to bounce back from a Saturday doubleheader loss at Johnson University in Knoxville Sunday but a big late inning by Johnson allowed the Royals to sweep the series.

Bethel led 5-3 going into the bottom of the seventh inning but four runs by the Royals led to a 7-5 victory for the home team.

Tyler Webb drove in Bethel's first with an RBI single in the fifth.

 Adriel Vega accounted for an RBI in the sixth.  Evan Cardwell had an RBI single later in the inning.

Juan Diego Ramos slugged a two-run homer in the seventh to give the Wildcats the 5-3 lead.

The Royals outhit the Cats 11-10.

The loss dropped the Wildcats to 4-12 while Johnson moved to 20-2 on the season.

The Wildcats return home Friday to host Dakota State in a three-game weekend series. The teams play a twin bill on Friday beginning at 1 p.m. and then a single game on Saturday starting at noon.
