Bat Cats Drop Opening Game of Series at Cumberlands (KY)
WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The Bethel Wildcats traveled to Williamsburg Friday to face the No. 9 Patriots of the University of the Cumberlands. It was the first of a three game Mid-South Conference weekend set.
Down 3-0 after four innings the Wildcats scored three runs in the fifth to tie the game. Luis Aristud, Jared Hall, and Jose Olmeda each drove in a run.
The Pats answered with two runs in the seventh and a single run in the eighth to win 6-3.
Cumberlands outhit the Wildcats 14-7.
Matt Ray suffered the Wildcat loss.
Bethel dropped to 14-12 overall and 2-4 in the MSC.
The Patriots moved to 26-6 and 7-0 in the league.
The teams play a doubleheader Saturday with play beginning at 1 p.m. CT.
