Cats Fall to No. 5 Patriots

MCKENZIE, Tenn. –After dropping a doubleheader to the University of the Cumberlands Saturday the Bethel Wildcats had hoped to turn the tables Sunday against the No. 5 Patriots. It wasn't to be however as Bethel fell 12- 1 to the visitors from Kentucky.

Noah Foster gave the Wildcats a 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the first.

The Patriots scored eight runs on six hits in the third. Highlighting the inning was the third home run of the series by Charlie Muniz.

Muniz with another homer in the sixth put the Pats up 9-1.

UC pushed across three more runs in the seventh to win 12-1.

The Pats had 11 hits in the game. Bethel had just three hits and fell to 19-6 overall and 0-3 in the conference. UC moved to 23-4 and 3-0.

Alex Rodriguez suffered the Wildcat loss.

With the three-game sweep of the Wildcats, the Pats have won eight in a row.

The Wildcats travel to Freed-Hardeman for a three-game series Friday and Saturday. The teams play a single game Friday at 5 p.m. and a doubleheader Saturday starting at 1 p.m.
