All Wildcats in Doubleheader Sweep

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Bethel Wildcat baseball squad played host to the Calumet College (ind.) Crimson Wave Friday in McKenzie.

The Wildcats used an offensive onslaught to capture game one 18-6.

The onslaught continued in game two with a 13-0 victory.

In game one, the Cats scored two runs in the first, four runs in the second, six runs in the fourth, four in the fifth and two runs in the sixth.

Calumet scored single runs in the second, third and fourth. The Crimson Wave added three final runs in the seventh.

Highlighting the 15-hit Bethel attack was a grand slam by Zack Griffith in the fourth. Griffith drove in five runs in the game. Noah Foster, the reigning MSC Player of the Week drove in three runs. Jared Hall and Ivan Vega had two RBI's each. Juan Ramos, Bryan Catala, Paden New and Brantlee Brasher each drove in a run.

Tyler Proctor picked up the Wildcat win.

After leading 5-0 after four innings in game two, the Wildcats exploded for eight runs in the fifth to ice the game.

Six different Wildcats drove in runs. Ramos and Ivan Vega drove in three runs each. Hall, Foster and Adriel Vega had single RBI's. Foster drove in two runs. Bethel had 10 hits in the game.

Luke Boswell was the winning pitcher going the distance firing a four-hitter.

The Wildcats moved to 5-1 while Calumet dropped to 0-2 on the season.

Due to weather concerns the squads will play a single game only on Saturday beginning at noon CT.
