MCKENZIE, Tenn. (Friday, September 26,2008) - The Lady Wildcats knew they had a tough challenge ahead of them when they visited Pulaski, Tenn. to face the number one ranked Lady RedHawks of Martin Methodist College. In a defensive battle, Bethel kept the game close but MMC was able to score two goals late to get the win.
The two teams combined for only seven shots on goal in what was clearly a game dictated by defense. The game was also physical and eventually led to a penalty kick for the lady RedHawks. MMC's Lisa Mann took the shot and scored on Bethel goalkeeper Tashana Taylor in the 85th minute. The goal seemed to spark the lady RedHawks as they scored a mere three minutes later in the 88th minute for a 2-0 lead. Taylor recorded three saves in the loss.
The Lady Wildcats fall to 1-5-1 on the season. They will next see action on Saturday, October 4, 2008 in Jackson, Tenn. against Lambuth University at 2:00pm.
